Missing Course Navigation Menu
If you can no longer see the Canvas course navigation menu, you may have inadvertently collapsed it.
It’s easy to make the menu visible again. In the upper left corner of most Canvas pages, directly to the left of the Canvas course name, look for the “hamburger” icon (three parallel lines). To collapse (hide) or display the course navigation menu, toggle the “hamburger” icon.

Defaults
- Grades: The collapsed course navigation menu is the default view in Grades. It can be expanded as well, but will revert to collapsed the next time round.
- Student view: The course navigation menu is shown by default in student view, unless you have hidden the course navigation menu in student view. Canvas will remember the choice - expanded or collapsed course navigation menu - for student view separately from the instructor view.
